TidyLock ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our app on iOS.
Privacy-First Design
TidyLock is built with privacy as a core principle. We do not store your photos, track your location, or collect personal information beyond what is necessary to provide the service. The app works without creating an account.
Photo Processing
When you submit a cleaning verification photo:
- Photos are processed by AI to verify cleanliness and generate a score
- Photos are not stored permanently on our servers — they are processed in real-time and discarded
- No facial recognition or personal identification is performed on photos
- Photos are compressed on-device before being sent to minimize data transmission
Screen Time API
TidyLock uses Apple's Screen Time API (Family Controls framework) to manage app restrictions on your device:
- App restriction data is managed locally by Apple's framework
- We cannot see which specific apps you have blocked — the framework uses opaque tokens
- Screen Time permissions can be revoked at any time in Settings
Data Storage
Your cleaning data is stored locally on your device. This includes:
- Mission configurations and area setups
- Streak counts and verification history
- App blocking preferences
This data:
- Never leaves your device (except photos for verification)
- Is protected by your device's security features and passcode
- Is deleted when you uninstall the app
- Is included in your device backups (if enabled)
Third-Party Services
TidyLock uses the following third-party services:
- TelemetryDeck: For anonymous, privacy-first usage analytics (subject to TelemetryDeck's privacy policy)
- RevenueCat: For subscription and purchase management (subject to RevenueCat's privacy policy)
We do not use advertising networks or sell your data to third parties.
Children's Privacy
TidyLock does not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from anyone, including children. All data stays on your device. We recommend parental guidance for users under 13.
Your Rights
All your data is stored locally on your device under your complete control. You can delete all app data at any time by uninstalling TidyLock.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
